Now it’s up to you: Help me promoting the Raven-Saga so that the series can live on and make a printed version possible. Abigail and Corvus have some more surprised for you planned.
The Raven-Saga is an experiment; there is no publisher to back me, just me and you! I’m looking forward to hones reviews, and as you already know, you could bribe me with fan art for a free copy.
The story is divided into five chapters and includes more than 30,000 words. Furthermore, it is based almost entirely on CGs and offers some animated scenes, as well as Quick-Time-Events. Besides the original French langauge, the game includes English, Spanish, and of course German language. A PSVita and a Mac OS version will follow later this year.
For a long time, there was little news about my book projects, but today I can finally announce my new series! Here on the left, you see the cover for the first part of the Raven-Saga, a planned six-part series about witches, time travel, and a mysterious raven man. The title of the first book is Raven Blood – Awakened in the Dead of Night, and it takes you into the contemporary Salem, where the outsider Abigail Willows has to come to terms with the dimensions of her new witch powers.The fact that her friend Julie wants to hook her up, and that the charming, if somewhat conceited, Corvus Raven gives her a hard time, do no make this situation any easier.
In the historical novel Raven Blood, fantasy meets horror. However, if you expect a clichéd romance between a young girl and a supernatural being, you will be disappointed. The characters are sarcastic, dark, and Abigail and Corvus merely share their hate relationship. Of course, there are also Romance elements here and there, and who knows how their relationship will develop over the episodes …?
The Raven-Saga is an ebook series and the first part will be released in August on Amazon for just $ 1.47! The episodes are self-contained stories, but a rough storyline connects them all and lead to an epic finale. The series is in many ways an experiment by me and I’m publishing it myself. Therefore, a print edition also depends a little on the success of the book, and I’m grateful for every review and recommendation. More information is available on official page or on Facebook. A few final words about the other book projects. They are also making progress, but releasing a book in a publishing house usually is a long process and with the Raven-Saga I am quite independent and can decide many things on my own. Depths of Forever, for example, will be published as a single volume, which means that it has to a lot longer than it is at the moment. The Raven-Saga will also be released in an English translation about the same time the German version is released. Furthermore, I cannot say exactly at which intervals the episodes of the Raven-Saga will be released; it Is planned to be an interval of three months (possibly sooner or later). I look forward to your opinions!
I have some great new ideas for the Sleepless Night series, but I wanted to ask you first what you would be interested in. Please note that everything is purely hypothetical, and this is not an official confirmation that those projects will actually be realized (except Sleepless Night 3).
Sleepless Night RPG game In the past, I would often experiment with the RPG-Maker; however, none of those games were ever released. I would like to try to create a Sleepless Night RPG game. I don’t know yet if it’s going to be a 1:1 copy of the visual novels, or a new story of Haru. Would you like to play a role-playing game, in which you play as Haru, fighting against the shadow monsters, raising levels, learning skills, and rescuing your friends?
Sleepless Night novel adaption At the moment, I’m writing very much. Among other things I’ve written a lot for the Sleepless Night series (for the third installment and possibly other projects), so I thought it might be interesting to combine the whole Sleepless Night series (that is part 1, 2, 3 + side stories) into a novel, amplify it, and release it as a ebook. That way you could read the ending of the story earlier and you wouldn’t have to wait for the release of the last game. Also, there are going to be additional scenes.
A little idea about Shizuka’s and Kazumi’s background story as a kinetic novel. It could be another mini-episode of the Sleepless Night series, similar to Midnight Chaos, and would offer background information that will make you understand Shizuka and her intentions better.
The third installment makes progress, and I already thought about how the gameplay is going to work, and how the ending should be. However, it is going to be the biggest Sleepless Night game, and will not be released before 2015. Of course, it will be free like the rest of the series. Beforehand, however, I want to release Legend of the Silver Fox.
Invisible Apartment is a visual novel about surveillance, hacking, artificial intelligence, cybernetic implants and those who want to lead a normal life in a high-tech society. The game was developed by Milan Kazarka and is now officially available in German. At the moment, the game is only available for iOS, but more platforms will follow in the future (Android, Windows). The game is free for a limited time. You will find more information here: http://www.invisibleapartment.com
The game offers an atmospheric soundtrack and an interesting science fiction story that will leave you wanting for more! And who knows, this is probably not the end of Bunny’s story.
“Long ago, in a valley where a small village lay, two deities fought each other. One was imprisoned, the other vanished. Yet some time ago, an unnatural mist began lingering in the village, dissolving people’s memories. Biyu, a young shrine maiden, is now working her hardest in the shrine of one of these deities in the faint hope the mist will one day dissolve. Even though her good friend also lost his memory, not all hope is lost; she meets a stranger who seems to be recovering from his memory loss, and rather quickly as well …“
The game is much longer than Nanolife, and has a different setting. It is more like an otome game; you can pursue one out of three boys. As is usual with Circle Pegasi, the game offers high-definition graphics and a fascinating story. Give it a try!
To Kill A Black Swan is a short murder mystery visual novel about a detective, a yoga course attendant, a grieving wife, an obsessed cleaner, a “bro”, and a bitchy friend. To Kill A Black Swan is not your average whodunit, nothing is as it seems to be, it is all about superficiality (and beneath the surface it has an important message to tell.) TKABS was created for the 2014 Indie Game Development Contest and is available for free. The title is inspired by To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, but it is an original story.
* original detective story
* custom soundtrack
* hidden object game elements
* in-game map of the city
* English and German
Please read this story if you enjoy novels. Please read it if you don’t.
Because reading eliminates ignorance.
Whispering Willows is a horror puzzle game with adventure elements. A dark story, beautiful 2D art and an atmospheric soundtrack await you. You can control of a young girl named Elena, who is looking for her missing father. With the help of the shamanic powers from her ancestors she can manipulate her environment. Will she be able to find her father before he is swallowed by the darkness of the Willows mansion …?
As the main German translator I have to say that working with Night Light Interactive really was a pleasure, and I hope that we will work together in the future again. At this point, I also want to thank the German proofreaders Adam Schemojtel and Harry Underwood, and of course a huge thankyou to the whole team of MoonCreative.
Some of you may know it already, some may not. In mid-September I will be traveling to New Zealand for one year!
Together with Torsten Sohrmann, my loyal companion in private and professional life (some of you know him; he helped editing some images for German translations and with other design stuff), I’m doing a so-called working holiday. We will be traveling a lot, working, and certainly we will make great new experiences.
What does that mean for my games, translations, etc.: nothing. Or rather, practically nothing. I will keep maintaining this website and all of my announced games and translations will be released eventually. To be honest, lately things even work out better than I thought (more on that in the next weeks)!
Now to the essence of this announcement: I don’t want to spam those people who do not want to know anything about my personal life or about my travel to New Zealand. You will only find news about my books, translations, and other projects here. Thus, we created an extra personal travel blog: Nuss-Zealand. So if you want to read something personal from me for a change, you can expect nice pictures of the landscape, insisting into the culture, and cute videos of kiwis!
P.S.: The travel blog is in German only for the time being. I might translate it some time. Also, the name “Nuss-Zealand” is kind of an inside joke (“Nuss” is the German word for nut, like, the thing you can eat), and you cannot really explain it in English without it becoming awkward.
