The year is almost over and I wanted to say thanks to everyone who supported me this year! Merry Christmas! See you next year!
The German Review for June is here: The Elevator by Cyanide Tea.
Furthermore, I have some news. At the moment I’m pretty busy with a lot of projects.
Currently, I’m working on three translations; RE:Alistair++, Ristorante Amore and Heartful Chance~!. The translations of The Elevator and Legend of the Piper Girl are finished, the developer only have to put them together and release them.
My visual novel project makes progress, although slowly. The art is pretty good, all the main characters are finished and there are only the emotions and the blinking animations missing. The backgrounds are coming bit by bit, a huge thanks to Nathaniel-Aoife. The majority of the story is thought-out, but I only implemented about 5,000 words in the script.
Those who were able to read my German article in the newspaper know that I’m writing a new book. This time I’m moving away from Japan, since it takes place in the US, to be exact in a little village where a serial killer strike terror into people’s hearts. It is a crime novel for adults. The story is told from different views, although, the characters are all involved in the case somehow and there a lot of unexpected turns. Title and release date is TBA, however, a rough draft is finished and a lot is written already. I cannot say if there will be an English translation yet.
Those who know my book will recognize him immediately: Shiro!
As I mentioned before, I finally found someone who draws my characters. Thanks so much to this talented artist NoodleBrains.
Since I do not only want to use the characters for illustration on my website, I started with a new visual novel project today. Right! With all important characters from my books. The story will be of course different from the story of my trilogy. Some things will be similar, other things will be totally new. I’ll just say that the visual novel will take a romantic kind of way. At the moment, the project runs under the working title Sakura and about 3,000 words are already implemented in the script. If all goes well, I think I’ll have about 100,000 – 130,000 words in the finished product. Quite a lot, and as you can see at a very early stage. Here are the already planned features; 24+ endings and of course English and German text. Furthermore, I would like to have English voice acting for the characters. And here’s the problem: This all costs a lot of money, I have to pay myself. Therefore my question; would you pay for additional content (aka voice acting, additional scenes, soundtrack, etc.), as to say a “Deluxe Edition”, and if yes how much? You can vote in the poll and leave a comment.
I uploaded the visual novel recommendation for February to the German site; Train of Afterlife! Here is the review: Train of Afterlife
The visual novel will also be available in German soon, to be exact on February 13, 2012 if all goes well.
Furthermore, I have a big announcement: I am currently working on a secret project, a visual novel that I want to publish this year. Here are first information about the project: Secret project
Those who played my first visual novel, Soulmates, may already now that I don’t have problems with creating music or writing the script, however, I could use some help with the graphical stuff, so those who are talented drawers, preferably manga style, can write me an email.
One last thing, speaking of Soulmates, I found a really talented illustrator who is redrawing the characters for my game. The highly gifted artist is NoodleBrains. That means that there will be a new version of Soulmates with revised characters, music, and other surprises. Here is a preview:
Footnote: My new website supports comments. I would be happy if you would leave your opinions here now and then 😉
Welcome to the new website of Marcel Weyers!
There will change a lot in the next few days and there will be great alterations. For now, you can look at the updated sites about my books and my translations. Beside my already released translation projects, you will also find upcoming releases now; among others there will be Train of Afterlife by Zeiva Inc and the visual novel Break Chance Memento by Cyanide Tea can be expected in summer 2012.
